Las Vegas is full of great restaurants to enjoy, but what if you could get in the kitchen yourself and learn how the best chefs in the world master their craft? We tracked down some luxury cooking classes on the Strip to put a foodie-loving twist on your next vacation.
Become a Master of Cakes
Flora Aghababyan isn't just the winner of the Food Network's Cake Challenge, she's also a master cake artist for Wynn Resorts in Las Vegas. She'll host a "Master Cake Decorating Class" inside the resort's pastry kitchen at 2 p.m. on August 9 to reveal secrets about how to prepare gorgeous cakes at home. Everything from molding chocolate to fondant icing will be covered. Cost is $175 per person. Call the Wynn concierge desk at 702-770-7070 to make your reservation.
Take on Tamales and Tequila
Head to the Shops at Mandalay Place where Hussong's Cantina hosts a "Tequila and Tamale Cooking Class" by appointment only. Executive chefs George Motsinger and Noe Alcala guide guests through the messy process of preparing tamales, mixing cornmeal the traditional way — by hand. You'll also learn about the history of the dish throughout different Mexican regions. Round out the experience with a customized agave spirits tasting, featuring both tequila and mezcal. Booking and prices are available by contacting the restaurant.
Feel French in the Kitchen
Mon Ami Gabi at Paris Las Vegas is one of the most acclaimed and popular French restaurants on the Strip. Learn how to prepare seasonal dishes with Executive Chef Vincent Pouessel, an inventive culinary master who's also led kitchens at Aureole and DB Brasserie. Guests will learn about French kitchen techniques and will take home a recipe booklet to recreate the restaurant's dishes on their own kitchen. The "French Cooking Class" is August 11 at 1 p.m. and is $55 per person.

Learn the Story Behind Elegant Wines
Return to the Wynn, where Executive Director of Wine Mark Thomas will teach guests how to be a "Sommelier for a Day." The event will feature educational discussions about varietals, regions and pairings, along with a blind tasting. A global selection of wines, chosen for Wynn's lineup of restaurants over the summer, will be featured. The master class takes place at 3 p.m. on August 17 inside a private dining room at Lakeside. Call the Wynn concierge desk at 702-770-7070 to make your reservation. Must be 21 or over to participate.
Cook Like it's a Fiesta
El Segundo Sol at the Fashion Show Mall will reveal how to make three dishes and two cocktails with inspiration, ingredients and techniques from south of the border. Even better — when it's all done, you'll be able to sample everything for lunch and take home a recipe booklet. Executive Chef Saul Garcia leads the "Cooking Fiesta Class" August 25 from 10 a.m. to noon. Admission is $30 per person.
